Whats on our Beauty Shelf…

Posted 23 - 02 - 2012 | 0 comments

Our gorgeous and impeccably preened designer, Ruby Rufus -Isaacs, spills her secrets to flawless looking skin every day.

Skin Prepping:

Step 1: Boots No. 7 Gentle Foaming cleanser.  I love this as it’s not too harsh on your skin.  It leaves your skin feeling so refreshed and light.  I use it in the morning and at night to wash away my makeup.

Step 2: After a clean face: I use this Kiel’s Acai Damage Reparing serum.  It has changed my life! Just a tiny bit on your face in the morning and at night, make such a difference.  It is also my secret weapon when I travel.  Skin always glows and feels flawless when I use it.

Step 3: boots No. 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Day Moisturiser : My mother, who has the most incredible skin, introduced me to Boots No.7-  it changed my skin overnight. I will now never be able to use anything else. I use this cream so much, its not too expensive so you can really pile it on! Its not too heavy or oily, it’s the perfect balance for my skin.  I always keep it in a cool place, so when you apply it in the morning, its very refreshing and takes away any puffyness.

Step 4: I use this Kiel’s Exfoliater once or twice a week.  I have never known anything quite like it.  It leaves your skin spotless and litterally glowing within a day.

Step 5: Kiel’s Soy Milk & Honey Body Butter is incredible.  I have been using this cream for years, and even though I sometimes try other brands, I always come back to this.  Your skin feels like silk for days, and the smell is so delicous!

Make Up Routine:

Step 1: Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisteriser in Bisque :I use a pearl sized drop of this tinted moisterizer on my T zone.  Its extremely light, so just manages to give you a great even complextion.

Step 2: Laura Mercier Under Eye Perfecter No. 2: This little wonder pot goes with me everywhere I go.  I have really bad dark circles, so this is the perfect creamy concealer that lasts all day! Touch ups or anything… this is the best!

Step 3: Chantecaille Mascara – I have never gotten so many compliments on my mascara as when I wear this.  The brush is insane – it curls your eye lashes to perfection, and it’s the deepest black.  The price is a little punchy for a mascara, especially if you change it every 4 weeks like I do, but its worth every penny!

Step 4: Terry Blush in Apple.  My friend Davina introduced me to Terry.  Its pretty hard for me to experiment with different brands as I have such favourites already.  But this Terry cream blush is so lovely and natural.  I put just a bit on the apples of my cheaks, lips, and a tiny bit on my eye lids. It’s such a nice colour.

Step 5: Bobby Brown Dark Eye Palette: I love this little eye shadow set!  I use the darkest brown to fill in my eyebrows and the rest I use for a smokey eye.  They’re the perfect colours!

Step 6: Lucas Paw Paw Ointment- I have about 4-5 of these at all times.  One for my bag, one in the bathroom,  one in the medicine cabinet, one at work.  I use this on my face like a night mask if it’s feeling a little dry- for my lips, for scratches or cuts… really anything.  It has the best smell, I just want to eat it! Plus its all natural ingredients so you can use it on your baby or a dog!
