It’s fair to say that the girls at Austique know a thing or two about boutiques. When we aren’t hard at work in Austique’s two boutiques, we are are obsessive shoppers!! From New York to LA, Paris and Sydney the Austique girls will travel a very long way for an afternoon’s rummaging around a cool store.

Now we hate to pick favourites as someone’s feelings inevitably get hurt :( but in this case we just can’t help ourselves! Let us introduce you to The Space, Paris. Run by Tallulah Rufus Isaacs (big sister to Austique designer, Ruby Rufus Isaacs) and her partner Julia, we are head over heels in love with their quirky space, beautiful selection of fashion and incredibly cool selection of art.

What’s your role at Austique?
Head of Sales and Buying
Describe your style?
My personal style is constantly evolving and the older I get the more risks I take. One of the best parts of my job is meeting an assortment of very stylish people and I think over the years I have picked up little bits and pieces from here and there. One thing is for certain though – my clothes work very hard for me. My job involves a lot of running around, but I need to look smart from the store to buying appointments to photoshoots. If I couldn’t wear jeans with tailoring I would be lost! I take a lot of inspiration from Paris – ballet flats, cropped jeans and a cute shirt never get old!
What inspired you to persue fashion?
The thing that put me off my career as a lawyer was the thought of having to wear a grey suit and sensible heels to the office for the rest of my life! I think it was when I realised clothes were influencing the most important decisions in my life that I realised I was in the wrong profession…
What do you feel best when wearing?
Heels! I always have a successful day when I’m wearing beautiful shoes.
If you could take one suitcase with you to a desert island what would be in it?
7 Zimmermann bikinis – one for each day of the week. A Hat Attack Fedora to stop my hair turning ginger! Austique snakeskin sandals. And one of my boyfriend’s shirts as a cover up.
What’s your signature piece in your wardrobe?
A black blazer. They go with everything!
What’s on your must buy list?
Sophie Hulme’s gorgeous handbags. Austique Coco Top in Ivory. Austique Aztec Shorts. A wedding dress!!
Which SS12 collection excites you the most?
There are two collections which got me excited this season. Austique- of course. It was the most beautiful collection I saw in New York on my buying trip and I can’t wait to get it in store. And Sophie Hulme, which is new for this season. The leather of her bags is absolutely to die for – they’re the chicest things I think I’ve ever seen.
Always make time for…?
Running – if I don’t run I’m an absolute horror!!
